The Stepford Wives (1975)
Joanna Eberhart, a previously successful photographer, after a series of shocking events suffers a nervous breakdown and is moved by her milquetoast of a husband, Walter, from Manhattan to the chic, upper-class and very modern planned community of Stepford, Connecticut. Once there, she makes good friends with the ascerbic Bobbie Markowitz, a Jewish writer who’s also a recovering alcoholic. Together they find out, much to their growing stupor and-then horror, that all the housewives in town are strangely blissful, and somehow… high-tech slaves. What is going on behind the closed doors of the Stepford Men’s Association and the Stepford Day Spa? Why is everything perfect here? Will it be too late for Joanna and Bobbie when they finally find out?

I love this movie! The 2004 movie doesn’t even campare to the original.
20 minutes longer than the 2004 remake. 20 minutes better!
thank you for your movies! I did want to say that your synopsis of The Stepford Wives in inaccurate. The book by Ira Levin (and the movie too) says none of the things you wrote abou the history of the characters.
An interesting flick due to the concept itself. Not too well hammered was the robot idea itself, Im sure the book was more intriguing, but The woman in the film were hot and kept my interest to the end.
